Customizing Your Shop: A Guide to Settings
The Settings page is where you can fine-tune Tailoraza to perfectly match the way your shop operates. While we provide sensible defaults, this is your space to make the tool truly your own. From changing your shop’s name and logo to managing tax rates and customizing the notifications your customers receive, almost everything can be adjusted here. This guide will walk you through the different sections of the Settings page so you can feel confident in making changes.
Where to Find Settings
Accessing your settings is simple. In the main navigation menu on the left side of your screen, you will see a link with a gear icon labeled "Settings." Clicking this will take you to the main settings page, which is usually organized into several tabs or sections to keep things tidy.
1. Shop Settings: Your Business Identity
This section deals with the core information about your business. This is the same information you provided during the initial Account Setup, and you can edit it here at any time.
Updating Your Shop Details
Life changes, and so do business details. If you move to a new location, get a new phone number, or decide to rebrand, this is the place to update that information. The fields you can typically edit are:
- Shop Name
- Shop Address
- Contact Phone Number & Email
Any changes you make here will be immediately reflected on all future documents you generate, such as new invoices and receipts.
Uploading Your Logo
If you didn’t upload a logo during setup, or if you have a new one, you can upload it here. A logo adds a layer of professionalism to your customer-facing documents and reinforces your brand. Just click the "Upload Logo" button and select the image file from your computer.
2. Financial Settings: Managing Your Money
This is a critical section for ensuring your financial records are accurate. Here you can manage your currency and tax settings.
Currency Settings
The currency for your shop is chosen during the initial setup. In most cases, this setting cannot be changed after you have started creating orders. This is because changing the currency midway would make all your past financial data incorrect and inconsistent. If you have made a mistake and absolutely need to change your currency, please contact our support team for assistance, but be aware that this is a complex process.
Managing Tax Rates
Tax laws vary from place to place, and Tailoraza gives you the flexibility to handle them correctly. In this section, you can create and manage the tax rates that apply to your sales.
You can typically perform the following actions:
- Add a New Tax: You can create a new tax by giving it a name (e.g., "GST", "VAT", "State Tax") and a percentage rate (e.g., 5, 7.5, 10).
- Edit Existing Taxes: If a tax rate changes, you can easily edit the percentage here.
- Set a Default Tax: You may be able to set one tax rate as the default, which will be automatically suggested when you create a new order.
When you create an order, you can then choose to apply one or more of these pre-defined taxes. The system will do the math for you, calculating the tax amount and adding it to the total bill accurately and professionally.
3. Notification Settings: Your Communication Style
As we covered in the Automated Notifications guide, Tailoraza can send messages to your customers automatically. This section of the settings is where you can control those messages.
Enabling and Disabling Notifications
You have full control over which automated messages are sent. You will see a list of all possible notifications (e.g., "Order Confirmation," "Ready for Pickup"). Next to each one, there will be a simple toggle switch (On/Off). If you prefer to contact your customers personally and don’t want the system to send a particular message, you can simply switch it off.
Customizing Message Templates
For some notifications, you may be able to edit the text of the message. We provide standard, professional templates, but you might want to adjust the wording to better reflect your shop’s personality. For example, you could change "Your order is ready" to "Great news! Your beautiful new garment is ready to be picked up." This allows you to add a personal touch while still benefiting from the automation.
4. My Profile / User Account Settings
This final section is all about your personal user account—the credentials you use to log in to Tailoraza.
Changing Your Name or Email
Here you can update your own name and the email address you use for logging in. If you change your email, remember that you will need to use the new address for all future logins.
Changing Your Password
For security reasons, it’s a good practice to change your password from time to time. In this section, you can update your password. You will typically be asked to enter your current password first, and then enter your new password twice to confirm it. Always choose a strong, unique password to keep your account and your business data secure.
The Settings page is your personal control panel for Tailoraza. We encourage you to explore it and set things up in a way that makes you feel comfortable and efficient. A well-configured system is a system you will enjoy using every day.
